Monochrome Madness | Wishlist

monochrome madness

I love a good wishlist! And it's been a crazy long time since one has been featured on Anika May. One of the biggest reasons I love wishlists (and Polyvore), is because it's like window shopping in the comfort of my own home. I love building sets with fashion items, especially the accessories!

Super Lazy Day | Wishlist

3 August 2016

Ilkley, West Yorkshire
goodnight
I always find shopping for nightwear to be so much fun. It could be two matching pieces, or random finds on the high street - I absolutely love to shop for brand new PJs and accessories to be worn for bed. I'm ridiculously lazy, no seriously, a day lounging around and doing nothing but watching hours of TV is a good day for me. Wearing comfy clothing is a total must for lazy days, and nightwear is the easiest of ways to ensure total comfort - it's foolproof!

The T by Alexander Wang tank top looks like it's the perfect tee for lounging around in. I don't tend to explore colour when it comes to a lazy day because I don't really have anyone to impress, nor do I need to stand out - so the simpler the better. This sleeveless piece is a linen blend, which means it's guaranteed coziness. Similarly, the Old Navy shorts look crazy comfortable! I've had them in my 'liked' list on Polyvore for as long as I can remember, and have always decided I will one day feature them in a wishlist. Although I have heard a few bloggers and vloggers discuss Old Navy and buy from there, I've never bought anything from the site myself. After having a brief browse, I think the store has the potential to be a new favourite! The clothes look to be a of really high quality, and are available for amazing prices. As much as I adore tracksuit bottoms and leggings, shorts are an ideal alternative because it means I can totally and completely surround myself with blankets upon blankets.

Anyone that follows my blog, knows that I am totally and completely obsessed with stationary. It's actually kind of scary. I once considered even signing up to a stationary subscription box, but sadly £40 a month was just a little too high for me. The Campus Gifts notebook is one item I would love to own. I think the font is really cool, and stands out well against the darker text. The phrase is unique and something I've never seen printed before; the large book would be amazing for jotting down blog post ideas or even write out posts on a snug day at home. I'm a huge fan of UGG boots, despite knowing a lot of people don't like them. Personally, I don't mind the style and love how warm they keep my feet. When I spotted the UGG Australia Knit Slippers, I knew they had to be featured on a cushy-themed wishlist. From wearing UGG boots for years on end, it must be made certain that these slippers must be crazy cosy. The colour suits this overall wishlist brilliantly, and although the price is high, I'm sure I could make an exception.

Dark Summer | Wishlist

10 June 2016

Eldwick, Bingley, West Yorkshire
It’s wishlist time again! Shopping is one of my favourite *cough cough* ‘exercises’ and I absolutely love to create wishlists on Polyvore full of luxury and high street items. It’s one of my favourite networks for discovering new items and people to follow. Creating sets is extremely relaxing, especially when you create something that’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye. One thing I’ve noticed with my style is that I tend to go for darker colours and I’ve decided to sometimes embrace it! Of course, there are occasions where I need to brighten up my ensembles every so often, but I think all-black is so badass, I just love it. Wearing all-black in the sun is a pretty brave thing to do, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little… ‘dark summer’.

The first thing on my list is the Black Spaghetti Top by Romwe. I have been on the lookout for cute summer tops to wear, because sometimes I’m so warm I barely want to wear anything at all (obviously I would never scar the world by doing that)! The straps on this top turn it from a basic tank top to a unique bralette that will subtly pair well with (literally) anything, and still stand out. It’s a cotton top, and fits perfectly into my theme. To pair with the top, I chose the Black Button Front Skirt from Topshop. I don’t wear a lot of skirts, simply because I don’t have much to pair them with. It can be really hard to find a skirt style that suits your body shape and this is still something I struggle with. Luckily, it means more shopping to ‘experiment’ with my style and what suits me. I usually play it safe with an A-line skirt, and I think this denim utilitarian piece fits well. No wishlist is complete without one high fashion item! The Sac De Jour Nano Leather Tote by Saint Laurent has always caught my eye, it’s so chic it hurts. I think this handbag would be the perfect investment, and joins the many others I have waiting on my list. I love the simple style, and think it projects pure elegance and femininity without being OTT.

Another luxury bag I liked is the "Totes Amaze" Tote by 3.1 Phillip Lim. Devastatingly, it’s out of stock everywhere but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to include it in my Dark Summer Wishlist. The Harlock Platform Sandals by Jeffrey Campbell are one of the few white items in this list, but luckily they do come in black. For this look, even though it is based on embracing all-black, I really liked the monochrome contrast with white sandals. I think they will stand out even more, and help the outfit to look different too. Along with the White Hardware Belt from Yoins, adding a little splash of white is creating monochrome with minimal effort (see what I did there?)

Finally, the Tether Skeleton Bracelet from Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my favourite items in the entire wishlist. It may be tiny, and difficult to see from a distance, but I absolutely adore the style. It’s so simply unique, the design behind it is genius. I find that watches like this are pieces that get the most attention without any effort. I love these little gems, as they pull a whole outfit together despite their size. This luxury piece is completely black and may stay near the top of my wishlist for a very long time.

What’s your favourite item?

She Could Fly | Wishlist

22 May 2016

Skipton, North Yorkshire
Today is being spent in the lovely town of Skipton, one of my favourite places in the whole of Yorkshire. I have so many memories here, from visiting Bolton Abbey to lunch at the castle. Last summer, I loved visiting Skipton for an all-out girls' shopping day, so today's wishlist is inspired by those kind of summer outings.

I think playsuits are crucial for summer. They’re not an item I’m really invested in, but yet again, multiple Instagram accounts and fashion magazines have swayed me. I really like how simple they are and easy to wear. Despite the unable-to-go-to-the-toilet-without-getting-complete-naked aspect, they’re super cute and fun to play around with. I chose the simple black Monki playsuit (similar), and there’s no doubt the high street will soon be filled with them.

The Maurices denim jacket really caught my eye (sadly, it’s out of stock but I found a similar one here). The medium wash is really versatile for summer style and has a cute cropped style that compliments the waistline. I think a cropped jacket is a summer essential, and denim will never go out of style. The jacket can be used as a layer, making it the ultimate wardrobe staple. Similarly, a simple tote is necessary. I absolutely love the Cuyana tote because it’s just a classic. It comes in a large array of colours, but I chose caramel to brighten up the look and contrast against the dark playsuit. The great thing about high quality bags are that they are lightweight and made to last!
If you haven’t noticed, I’m totally obsessed with phone cases. I recently had a post featuring my latest custom case (plus the discount code “ANIKA20CA” to receive 20% off from CaseApp). Today, I’m adding the white marble look to my wishlist with a phone case from Casetify – it’s super chic, very slim and would fit my iPhone perfectly.

Ankle boots are my weakness. I have too many pairs and I shouldn’t be longing after any more but I just can’t help it. Acne Studios is also my weakness but that’s something that I’m willing to live with. I absolutely adore their Pistol Short Boots despite the high price. The large stitching is unique for leather boots but I really like the classic style. They’re effortlessly chic and can be worked in a casual look, biker ensemble or formal outfit. The heel is the perfect size the lengthen legs without looking strange and black pairs with absolutely everything. To finish the look and theme of simplicity, I chose the Top Coat polish by Nars and Quay Australia sunglasses with a cool mirrored effect!

Super Suede

3 March 2016

super suede
I'm so excited for summer. Like seriously, embarrassingly excited for the sun to finally appear. In Yorkshire, all I can see at the moment is snow, and as fun as snow can be, I just love summer style. Wrapping up warm is great, but being cold really isn't. I have Pinterest boards dedicated to both summer and winter style, but a great summer wishlist will always be number one in my heart.

I found myself in wonderland

My favourite thing about creating sets on Polyvore is that I get to discover new items to add to my wishlist, the list that is only ever getting longer.

this is how my week goes
My style has evolved massively over the past year and that's fairly evident from my Polyvore page and choice of outfits. From the beginning of Anika May, I believed the crazier the better, the most I had going on in one look equalled the best I was going to look. As I've grown up, that's changed quite a bit, and although I tend stick to a simpler palette, I still like to make a look interesting.

Not So Summer Wishlist

17 July 2015

you're gone and i gotta stay...
A lot of bloggers and writers are focusing on the best of a summer closet. As someone who isn't summer best friend, I'm excited for autumn fashion to kick in. Polyvore is the best place for me to make wishlists. It's like window shopping without having to move. I always point out my style would be much better if all clothing was free, but I'm happing making sets for today. This first item on this "Not So Summer" wishlist is this amazing sweater by Tory Burch. I initially came across this jumper after browsing Tory Burch's site looking out for a new pattern to splurge on. Although their lines are not always in my price range, I couldn't resist adding this piece to my wishlist. It's made of solid and foil-printed merino wool, a modern way to incorporate the AW15 trend of metallics into your look.
I absolutely adore the Watch by Uniform Wares from popbee.com. My usual style of accessory is quite shiny and glamorous, rose gold is one of my favourites, but I was drawn to this watch for it's unique but effective simple. The layout is so simple, and monochrome is yet another trend returning for the fall.
Finally, my number one wishlist items are the black skinny jeans by Saint Laurent. I found them on Vestiaire Collective along with a whole other collection. The slim fit jeans would fit in perfectly with my ever-growing winter wardrobe and pair well with so many items. They're one of the most popular types of jeans after growing fashionable among celebrities. It's not difficult to combine this piece with plenty of other items, and could easily become that must-have item this season.

Closet Clean-Out

12 January 2015

Hyde Park, London, UK

There are so many reasons why a closet clean-out is essential this season. We're not even a fortnight into the new year which means there's plenty of time to make the fresh start you promise every year. A brand new wardrobe isn't in my budget, but getting a few pieces here and there is a great way to develop your style and experiment more. I'm a working girl which means I'm always on the lookout for new looks to try that appear professional and stylish. 2015 is just getting started - the perfect excuse to splurging on January's best sales.

Get a head start on spring cleaning. Most people dread it, but there has to be a time when everything needs to be organised before it gets out of control. Claiming you have "nothing to wear" despite a wardrobe bursting at the seems is all too frustrating. Closet cleaning doesn't have to been seen as an upcoming chore, it should be a chance to finally take a look at the hidden gems that have been missing all year.

Spring is almost around the corner, and will arrive much quicker than expected so there's no better time to get your wardrobe in check. You may even be ahead of trends without realising, fashion always comes back around. More is not always the merrier and there's no reason why an 8-year-old jacket can't go to another lucky owner and be worn with pride. There are plenty of different platforms available for selling clothing, from apps like Depop to the ever-popular eBay. Anything that no longer fits, is damaged or simply doesn't suit you does not need to be crumpled and stuffed into the back of your wardrobe!

Any excuse for a fashion show should be taken. Try on just about everything you own just take make sure it still fits and is worth keeping. Organisation in a closet becomes key when you can no longer find something to wear in under 20 minutes. By trying your items on, you may discover mystery pieces that look way better than when you bought them. I recently found a floral bomber jacket I haven't worn since 2012 and it's in perfect condition. Closet cleaning always comes with surprises, so why not start digging?

this is how my week goes

this is how my week goes
My theory is that colour is for the brighter days and the better moods. This seems like more of an excuse, but I can't help to gravitate towards a monochrome look - it happens without me noticing. I'm a fan of contrasting colours because I think it's the easiest way to make a look appear put-together and effortless simultaneously. The R13 Nancy Striped Boy Tee is a perfect example. Stripes are such a simple pattern, but make this shirt seem more complex in contrast to a plain black or white tee. The Black High Waisted Jean Shorts compliment and bring out the black in the t-shirt, but to make this seem brighter, white shorts would work too. The distressed demin and studs expose the stylish design without going over the top.

A Wool Hat is essential for this season, even if shorts aren't. The 100% wool hat includes a subtle leather band for texture contrast. To finish the look, I included the Dioon Elastic Chelsea Boot available at Office Shoes. The chunky 90's inspired boot includes a platform for extra high and intensity.

The Paris Obsession

In the words of  Audrey Hepburn, "Paris is always a good idea." There's something about this city that has me completely mesmerised, making it one of my favourite cities in the world. Paris brings out the inner wanderlust despite it's luxurious budget not always being on my side. Unlike New York City, I have been to Paris a few times and each time is better than the trip before. I have an aunt who just returned to Paris today and after spending 15 minutes at the airport, I really wanted to go with her. My last trip to the City of Lights was in March 2013 and each moment is still fresh in my memory. Sailing down the Seine at 10pm was magical as I took at least 40 photos of the Notre Dame Cathedral with the Eiffel shimmering every hour.

Paris tends to bring out my inner fashionista, and whenever I'm there I feel 10% more confident than I would right here in the UK. Not only do I love to travel, but being in a city that's full of inspiration at every corner is a dream come true. The city has a glamorous stigma to it that some say will fade away after a few months of overcrowded underground tubes and tourists, but I don't believe it. After spending just a few days there I already feel like I could live in a small apartment close to the city centre.

My aunt moved there when she was 25 after spending a while in London and eventually taking the plunge. After receiving a C in GCSE French, I still have a while to brush up on the language before I move over too. Posters and postcards aren't going to cut it, the fascination and total infatuation is way too strong. Moving to Paris isn't down to the classy craze, it's a genuine dream and hope.

you're gone and i gotta stay...

you're gone and i gotta stay...
Wishlist time! I have waiting a while to post this set, partially because BT can't seem to fix my wifi, but also because I think it suits the time of year. The Tory Burch Dominique Sweater has been on my winter wishlist for a while because it's so unique. It's made of solid and foil-printed merino wool which gives the jumper the unqiue shimmery texture, but it's still cosy. The colour makes for a modern way to wear metallics which are always in trend during Christmas and New Year. The textural standout is great for a layering outfit that needs a contrasting element and the darker tones make it ultra-chic. Black jeans are an essential in a wardrobe, for both genders. Like a leather jacket, they're incredibly easy to style and pair well with many other textures as the denim look is often subtle. These YSL Skinny Jeans help the shimmery sweater stand out more and still look classy. The luxurious denim is very versatile and super soft too.
It's often said that black makes you appear much slimmer, but so do heels. The Opening Ceremony Brenda Boots are jet black, made of napper leather and naturally elegant. The round toe edge creates a smooth line in the whole look with hidden elastic for comfort. The ankle boots also have some heel, which elongates your legs, especially when paired with black denim.

I WAS BORN THIS WAY

16 November 2014

i was born this way
Sometimes I don't even think I realise I create these sets with an overall palette of black. It's a colour I will always love, and I think sometimes is overrated. Although the colours are suited to this year, the wishlist items do have a summery theme. The first item I 'need' is the tank top from Cheap Monday. I styled the sleeveless top as a dress (paired with the Cross Strap Leather Gladiator Sandal by Bertie), because I think it looks quite cosy in this way, almost like a longer tunic. The super soft 100% cotton shirt follows the jersey-like style which I really took a liking to during the summer. Since creating this wishlist I have actually bought the 5-pack eyeshadows from H&M and absolutely adore all the shades. The colours are essential for a smoky eye this season, and the pack is only £3.99 in UK stores! The shades are soft, silky and long-lasting, I would recommend them to anyone who isn't a high level beauty guru buy loves to experience with gradient shades. Cara Delevingne is one of my favourite models, so it was destiny for me to find the Mulberry Mini Cara Delevingne bag. The leather rucksack has "Made in England" stamped at the bottom and is the perfect size for a relaxed day out of the house. Not forgetting the colour, material and texture will match about anything in a wardrobe including the crucial LBD.

boys are nicer when they aren't with their friends
As hard as a try, I just can't stop my head for automatically picking black clothing and accessories. I just love dark clothing! This wishlist contains quite a few dark items inlcuding the Apiece Apart Michel Tee that I really 'need'. The shirt is described as a "slightly cropped, boxy top in a mid-weight Spanish weave" which sounds ideal for this season. Although cropped tops are not as popular at this time of year, there's no reason why shorter shirts can't still be worn with some high waisted jeans or a skirt. Shorter tops are also great for wearing over dresses, because they don't consume the shape of the dress but still add a layer. To go with this top I chose the D&G Slimmy Black Jeans that I found on Polyvore. I don't think you can go wrong with black jeans as black pairs with every colour there is. I've also found that darker denim is really easy to style and dress up or down. You can get away with wearing them to quite a formal occasion. The same can be said for the Coltrane shoes by Jeffrey Campbell and the Zippered Faux Leather Backpack from Forever 21. Unfortunately both these items are sold out but I couldn't help but add them to this week's wishlist. I tend to favour darker accessories as I find that accessories are the one items that can stop an outfit from working. By choosing colours rhat will work with multiple outfits, it's money-saving and efficient. To check out the rest of my wishlist, just click the set!

Sundays mean days at home which mean online shopping which results in a wishlist. United Bamboo Striped Baggy Dress is at the centre of my wishlist and at the very top. I have recently loved this style of dress, especially for this season. I think the jumper-dress style is a lot cosier and can be paired with long socks or tights and still look cool and casual. This dress in particular would also look lovely with a leather jacket. I chose the Ribbed Infinity Scarf to go over this dress because the colour looks super cosy as well as the fabric containing cotton which is a must for this year. I love the white and silver them throughout this wishlist, and the Marc Jacobs Beauty Tonite Lights Glitter Dust slots in perfectly. The long-wearing metallic eyeshadow is dust-like which means it applies really well with a weightless but sparkly finish. Another beauty item, also available at Sephora is the Dior Fusion Mono Eyeshadow which would be used to highlight the eyes along with the glitter dust. The shadow does come in many different colours, but I think the shimmering black will contrast well with the glittery finish. This product is actually an Allure Best of Beauty winner, and has a mousse-gel texture which creates an easy application. The very final beauty item today, is the Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl by Marc Jacobs. It's champagne-infused with a very gentle plumping formula and is available in a few different colours. For this wishlist, I chose the clear colour as I think it suits the style of the set better. The colours from the eyeshadows and the Soft Touch Shadow Pencil by Nars create a subtle shimmer throughout the eyes which is enough rather than a really bold lip.

i am as vain as i allow

I am as vain as i allow
I am crazy about this wishlist, I just want every single item! To begin, we must discuss this Mango Plaid Dress. It's still in stock in a few sizes at only £24.49 at John Lewis and I think it's the perfect autumn dress. The classic plaid print is all over the high street this season so this 100% cotton mini can only be considered an essential. Not only are the colour excellent for this time of year, but they're also very versatile as there's quite a variety - so you can pair the dress with plenty of other items, including different coloured tights. I have a soft spot for Rag & Bone, the clothes there are always on trend and stylish for each occasion. So over this dress, I chose a modern Charlize Cashmere and Wool-Blend Cardigan available at Net-A-Porter that's not intimating and very wearable for everyone. This super soft cover-up is a little pricey, but the mid-weight style (which is ideal for layering) and high quality make up for it. I chose a darker colour to go with the plaid dress as I wanted the dress to remain the centre of the look and though the grey tied in really well with the autumnal theme.
The Sac De Jour tote from Saint Laurent (other colours) has been a favourite of mine for a while. Although this berry colour is sold out, I had to include it in my wishlist because it pairs perfectly with the rest of the items in the set. I think this bag is an item that really compliments everything, as the shape is so simple and timeless, it can't possibly clash. Another accessory that never clashes are black chelsea boots. The Ganni Fiona Chelsea Boots are a pair I came across while online shopping and though would slot perfectly into this set. The classic boot comes with a chunky heel for an extra bit of high and adds a touch of elegance to the overall look. To view the rest of the items in this wishlist, just click the set!

until I fall asleep

19 October 2014

until I fall asleep
Today is a total chill day. I honestly don't plan on moving, at all. Throughout the week I have been going to the gym every evening which is a little out of the ordinary. But I haven't been working too hard that I'm overdoing it, but my muscles do ache which is bittersweet. I do need to increase my fitness level, but I'm also incredibly lazy so there's not much room for motivation in the exercise department. This wishlist totally reflects my mood as I'm feeling really relaxed and tranquil as anyone on a Sunday should. The 3.1 Phillip Lim Jersey Cropped T-Shirt and Emma Shorts from Monki are at the top of my list today because I always wear this kind of attire when I don't plan on moving for a few hours. I love that the cropped shirt is made of a jersey sweatshirt fabric, which means it's very soft and stretchy; and less likely to irritate your skin. The pull-on is 52% nylon and 48% cotton - a perfect balance for comfort. To match the cropped tee, I chose 100% cotton shorts because I know they'll be soft and cosy but not too warm to wear inside.
Recently, I have started to appreciate trainers and sportswear in general a lot more. As the weather is getting so much cold, and the wind is really picking up, sometimes there's nothing cosier than slipping on your gym-gear and favourite trainers. These Nike Hi-Tops are in my wishlist to match the rest of the items in my set but also continue the theme of casual comfort. On any chill-day, I will have a bath. No matter the time of day, I will have a bath to help me feel relaxed and detox. I have chosen the Star Light, Star Bright bath melt from Lush to be in this week's wishlist as suits the theme perfectly - and I love the shape and smell. The star is lime and ginger-scented, two of my favourite fragrances, and it has a shea butter fondant centre which is great for the skin. Although this bath melt is usually exclusive to the Christmas-y time of year, I couldn't help but include it on this super-chill Sunday.

hotter than you

hotter than you
If you follow, or have seen my Polyvore page, you may notice that a lot more of my sets are getting darker and darker or carry specific colour themes within them. I think this is due to my style developing more as I get older and mature, but I also really believe I address according to the weather or season or my mood. For example, if it's very poor weather, like today, I'm more likely to wear black and grey without even realising. Yes, I subconsciously dress to the colour of the clouds!
The first item that's at the very top of my wishlist is an ASOS Clutch Bag that was the inspiration for the title of today's post. Unfortunately, at this moment it's sold out, but it was on sale for under £20.00 and I absolutely love it. The monochrome clutch is leather with a smooth matte finish and ideal for an evening out. This clutch just oozes confidence and sass which is a must have in any night look. The R13 Striped Muscle Dress is a perfect autumn dress because it's loose and versatile. Like a leather jacket, a simple straight dress is a closet essential, despite the colour or pattern. I prefer to wear darker colours in dresses of this style because they make me feel much more comfortable. As the weather is a little chillier, I paired this sleeveless jersey dress with a H&M Cardigan that has incredibly subtle stripes in to match the effect on the dress. The fine-knit cardigan also comes in a petrol green colour which is an excellent autumn colour. It would also contrast well with the purple and lilac items in this set.
A beauty item that's accidentally always on my wishlist is the Nars Single Eyeshadow Compact I see everywhere. This particular compact is available in so many different colours making it an all-year-round essential as each colour can be worn for each season and occasion. I chose the D. Gorgeous colour to match the accessories included in this wishlist, but at Beauty.com (where they're available for around £15.00), the full range includes plenty of earthy tones and darker shades which are great for this season. The shadows can be used with each other to be layered on the eyelid, and they can even be used for eyebrows! As a UK resident, I'm often very cold. It's only natural, which ignites my [un]healthy obsession with candles. My very first thought on arriving home is lighting candles in my room because they create an excellent ambiance and provide extra light for the darker nights. I found the Lafco Music Room Candle on Polyvore and immediately desired it. Smelling candles is a very risky job, not everyone has the same favourite scent, I personally detest the smell of pure lemon, but I don't mind it if it's mixed in a citrus blend with lime and orange. "Black tea and citrus are highlighted with a touch of juniper and just a hint of french lavender for a warn, aromatic blend" is the description provided for the cute candle with 90 hours of burning time - a key feature.

Teenage Drama Queen

Teenage Drama Queen
Another week, another wishlist. I absolutely love this set I made of Polyvore and the items in it even more. The first item I adore is the Monki Amelie Singlet that is only £10.00. Such an amazing price for a great top too. I really like the cropped cut of this top, and although it's black (which is a colour I'm supposed to be trying to avoid) I think the unique hemline makes this top stand out a little more, along with the really cute embroidery detail along the bottom. This singlet is idea for layering, which is always a trend that naturally returns as the colder weather sets in. I paired the singlet with some D&G Jeans I had sitting in my 'liked' list on Polyvore for a while now. A lot of the jeans I own are actually really dark, and I have a habit of sticking to dark colours that I'm really trying to break. I'm assuming I gravitate towards darker colours because I feel most confident in them (due to the myth that they're more slimming) and because I've worn darker colours for most of my teenage life. The lighter wash of the jeans brightens up this whole set and contrasts well with the singlet. The ASOS Suede Fringe Clutch Bag is going straight to the top of my "Things to Buy When I Get Paid" list. Hopefully it will still be on sale at £21.00 when I do get paid at the end of the month too. Not only is this bag suede, it has a fringe style which I think really 'spices' up an outfit. It's made by one of my favourite online stores: ASOS. I never used to shop at ASOS, I always saw it as really expensive and just stuck to the stores that where in the city centre. But when I discovered this magical online library of fashion, I couldn't get enough - they have everything. Not forgetting all the boutiques and marketplaces within ASOS which is a great way to get high quality items for reasonable prices. ASOS always has sales which is a bonus, as well as selling designer label items in case I feel like splurging.
I've never seen boots like the Zara Leather Combination Heel Ankle Boots before but I think they're really cool. I like the two different colours in the boots and I think it makes them stand out against typical Chelsea or ankle boots. The open design of the boots makes them a lot more comfortable to wear for a long amount of time as they're leather and have a small heel for extra height. Finally, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Olive Raised Dog Phone Case is a must have for me. I must point out, it's half price at my-wardrobe.com, being only £20.00 which is an amazing price for a designer phone case. Marc Jacobs has always been a favourite of mine, and I absolutely love his designs and flawless style. French Bulldogs are also my favourite breed of dog, I'm so desperate to have one and this phone case is ideal for me. Not only is it black and white (I can't help it), it's rubber and made for my iPhone so I really believe it was meant to be!

It's technically autumn, and I can't wait to wear all my favourite jackets and coats again and layer up for the chillier weather; but I just can't let go of good ol' summer fashion! After seeing these Cut Off Shorts on Polyvore I was reminded of summer again. They have a bleach-like acid wash to them which is one of my new favourite types of denim because it makes an outfit seem more exciting and adventurous at first glance. I paired the shorts with a navy top from H&M that has some lace detail and is cropped. I absolutely love the lace hem and think it's a perfect last-minute summer look. Lace is a fabric that always looks great no matter the colour or pattern because it's very intricate and feminine. I actually own the Nars Single Eyeshadow Compact in a darker colour that's a little closer to my skin tone, but as this set is strictly summer, I thought I would add a brighter colour to the wishlist. The soft yellow-green colour is longwearing which means it will last all day and I've found that Nars eyeshadows are really easily blended with other shadows to create a unique look. They can also be layered for a more dramatic effect, and this particular product comes in so many different colours - I can never just pick one.
The Gasoline Glamour Lady Sings The Blues Shades are 100% summer. From one of my favourite online stores, Nasty Gal, the floral rims scream festival and summertime. They're vintage inspired from Gasoline Glamour and have grey tinted lenses so you can actually see through them. I've had a few sunglasses that have a weird brown-yellow tint and I'm just not a fan. The pastel porcelain flowers are a pale blue which can be styled with plenty of different colours from the summer style palette. The blue Nars pencil is actually a Shadow Pencil while the other is a Lip Pencil. I was drawn to the shadow pencil due to the bright colour that could be used to blend with the eyeshadow, also by Nars. I chose the darker lip pencil to go with the MAC Lorde Collection Lipstick I had saved in my favourites. I've always been a fan of darker lip colours and they contrast well with a brighter eye.
