My Workout Essentials

29 February 2016

my gym essentials, nike gym bag, nike flex run 2015 running shoes, mens gym clothes, womens sportswear, anika may essentials, work out and workout clothes essentials

I definitely don’t consider myself a health expert, but one thing I’ve recently fallen in love with is regular exercise. This is something I never thought I would say as I still occasionally consider myself to be one of the laziest people alive; but I do love a good run. Hitting the gym for an hour or so on a Friday night is a good evening to me. Getting up at 6am doesn’t seem so bad when you’re jogging against the sun rising over the moors. I’ve found a lot of positive aspects in exercise, and even more essentials.

Garnier vs Neutrogena - Facial Frenzy

29 June 2015

I'm always looking for ways to help keep my skin clear. It can be quite sensitive, so if I don't look after it properly, breakouts happen. My diet also affects my skin a lot, but making sure I cleanse and scrub the right way is a must. There are so many different products I've tried, and it's more common for the higher-end, pricier brands sell products that are no better than an average high street label. The two brands I have fallen for are Garnier and Neutrogena, which have become two of my summer favourites.
This is one of the first ever face washes I have bought and I absolutely love it. The smell is amazing, but the gel is still great quality. Often you find face washes that have an awesome scent but do absolutely nothing for your skin. I'm obsessed with this wash because the gel is very thick, rather than too thin and runny. The greats a great soapy solution which helps clean any extra make-up from my face.
I also chose a scrub from the same PureActive range after my success with the wash. I adore the scrub simply because it's not too harsh on my face, which means my skin won't react too badly to it. The pomegranate scrub was only bought for £2.00 (on sale) which is the best price for a scrub I've come across in a long time.
I do like to shop around for different washes and products to try out, and I'm a sucker for a great scent. This pink grapefruit has become a favourite of mine as it fills the bathroom with a great girly perfume. The facial wash is really gentle on my skin and leaves it feeling incredibly soft without taking away all the moisture which can be quite common. I tend to use this wash more on the weekend ends rather than everyday.
This wash is on of my favourites as it creates the most amazing soapy mixture and is so soft. The solution is designed to keep stress spots under control and it seems to be doing the trick for me. It helps prevent spots but also gives your skin that fresh and clean feeling that everybody loves. The tap pumps out huge lumps of fluffy foam to apply straight on your skin.
I bought this scrub recently as summer begins to set in and make-up has more of an effect on my skin due to the heat. I wanted to look for something that would really scrub away any impurities without damaging or hurting my skin. I came across this scrub (which was bought on sale for £3.00) and haven't put it down once. Although I don't use it every day, I look forward to the great, clean feeling it leaves.
This little gem is a must for days when my skin really needs to be taken care of. The brush makes it so much easier to apply and the rubber bristles work well with water and softer or sensitive skin. I highly recommend this brush wash for anyone who doesn't like using a wide range of products and just wants to aid their skin in feeling soft and fresh. Plus, the price makes it irresistible!
Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash and Mask - £3.79
I prefer this product as more of a mask than a wash as it's not something used everyday. It really helps to unclog pores and remove any dirt and impurities deep down in my skin. Unlike a lot of masks, it's very soft on the skin and doesn't feel uncomfortable once it's settled. The soft clay mask absorbs oil from the skin still leaving it moisturised and refreshed.
Like the Garnier daily scrub, this is also very soft and prevents spots in the skin. The beads in this scrub are a little tougher  but just as effective. It works really well with my skin and doesn't damage the over-sensitive areas. I have also notices this scrub reduces the appearance of pores which is ideal for me!

Style Crush: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

RHW is no stranger to the spotlight. Not only did she make her catwalk debut alongside Naomi Campbell, she also has a successful lingerie collection with Marks & Spencer named Rosie for Autograph and managed to land a roll in the third Transformers film - one of my favourites. However, that's not what I admire most about Rosie, the one thing I always look to Rosie for is her style. Whether it's on the red carpet or her favourite coffee run attire, Rosie's style is always at it's best. She's often featured in my collection of images for the 'Celebrity Style' board on my Pinterest page. Rosie's unique look compliments her effortless style as she mixes luxurious designer garments with the very best of the high street. As a model, Rosie knows how to dress to suit her body shape and skin tone which always comes to an advantage. She favours Givenchy for their luxury leather totes and has a flawless casual wardrobe which makes every day seem like a red carpet moment!

I WAS BORN THIS WAY

i was born this way
Sometimes I don't even think I realise I create these sets with an overall palette of black. It's a colour I will always love, and I think sometimes is overrated. Although the colours are suited to this year, the wishlist items do have a summery theme. The first item I 'need' is the tank top from Cheap Monday. I styled the sleeveless top as a dress (paired with the Cross Strap Leather Gladiator Sandal by Bertie), because I think it looks quite cosy in this way, almost like a longer tunic. The super soft 100% cotton shirt follows the jersey-like style which I really took a liking to during the summer. Since creating this wishlist I have actually bought the 5-pack eyeshadows from H&M and absolutely adore all the shades. The colours are essential for a smoky eye this season, and the pack is only £3.99 in UK stores! The shades are soft, silky and long-lasting, I would recommend them to anyone who isn't a high level beauty guru buy loves to experience with gradient shades. Cara Delevingne is one of my favourite models, so it was destiny for me to find the Mulberry Mini Cara Delevingne bag. The leather rucksack has "Made in England" stamped at the bottom and is the perfect size for a relaxed day out of the house. Not forgetting the colour, material and texture will match about anything in a wardrobe including the crucial LBD.

Darling Dogtooth

Winter is my favourite time of year, mainly because I own more coats that I do shorts. Dogstooth, which is also know as houndstooth; or in this case puppytooth as the pattern is small scale, is one of my favourite patterns to play around with. The broken check print comes in a wide variety of colours and combinations and is suitable all year round. This coat, which is made of wool and cotton is ideal for this time of year it's warm and cosy, but can also be worn for multiple occasions. Dogstooth in general is often worn for more formal events and is extremely common in workwear. However, the duotone pattern is appearing in high street stores in the form of trousers, coats and even hats. The print is becoming more casual and I chose this fabric from a local textiles store, hope to have this oversized winter coat made for me. The larger sizes makes the coat much easier to layer underneath and the darker pattern; which is most often found in monochrome, pairs well with multiple colours including the navy denim.
