Revision vs Relaxation

I cannot possibly be the only person that is putting more effort into avoiding revision that I have all year? I would rather have an extra month of school that revise for an entire day it's just so dull for me. But I know it's important, if I don't revise I have pretty much wasted an entire two years as I must ace my A-Levels. The folders are staring at me, I've done a lot of flash cards, that was easy, and making notes is enjoyable - it's re-reading those notes and trying to store information in my mind when I know I'm on holiday and there's so many other things I could be doing. One of the very fun things I could be doing is window-shopping -  which I absolutely love. I don't mind not buying brand new clothes every week, I just really like to see what's out there and take inspiration for clothing stores as well as other people so I know what I'm looking for. I'm back in my favourite charcoal jeans and this super cosy jumper that I adore. I really like the rounded edges of the sleeves which make the jumper unique to many others that I own, it also has a knitted effect just past the shoulders which helps it different from an average cosy sweater.

SMART SKATER

I have always been fond of blending trends, styles and colours - mixing them up to create a whole new look. If I'm ever asked to chose one set style or look for my entire wardrobe I'm always torn in two as I love the 'chic NYC girl' look, but I will still always be fond of a simple, casual style. It's Bank Holiday Monday in the UK which means a three-day weekend for most of us and luckily the sun has decided to say hello. Then again, I live in the North of England so it could be hail-stoning by the end of the day. Although the sun is out, the temperature is still quite low this morning so my bright blue coat is perfect for today - I would say it's one of my outfit obsessions because it becomes the statement piece of each outfit. When I first saw the coat, I was hesitant as it is very bright and stands out but sometimes that's what makes a great ensemble! I always think of this coat to have a more elegant tone to it, and I've paired it will casual pieces such as my skater dress and skater-like shoes. I really like these suede shoes, not only because they're suede, but they're touch and structures which actually makes them easier and comfortable to walk in. They're quite similar to the popular skater-shoe style designed for skateboarders and I absolutely love them, and they are great for the everyday casual style.

SNAPPY SUNDAY

25 May 2014

Eldwick, Bingley, West Yorkshire BD16, UK
Sundays used to be days where everyone stayed at home, or went to church - nearly every shop was closed and the streets were almost empty. Although today, Sunday is almost like Saturday as most shops are open until a normal time, and the streets are just as full and busy.
Whether it's window shopping or spending as much money as I can on my favourite bits and pieces I love to shop. Polyvore is one of my favourite apps as it's like window shopping galore with as many clothes, shoes and accessories as I like. I also love to use it for wishlists or just creating sets to showcase my style.
One thing I always make sure of when I shop is comfortable clothing that is easy to get on and off. Especially if I know I'll be visiting the fitting rooms frequently, I'm less likely to wear a dress with tights but I do love this two-piece top I bought a while ago because of the pattern on the 'cropped' jumper part, which is a navy floral pattern - perfect for spring. I also adore my handbag that I use for everyday tasks because it's tiny and lightweight but spacious inside. Every bag I own must have compartments in because they're useful for throwing my phone or valuable things in as I'm very likely to lose them otherwise.
Simple blue jeans are an essential for a really casual style, they make a basic statement piece and blue tones with many other colours, making it diverse for different occasions.

THE CHARCOAL BIKER

24 May 2014

If you have been following my blog for a while, or seen a previous post of mine, you will know that the dark grey/charcoal colour is one of my favourite colours for clothes because it's so easy to still and effortless to pull off. I have also found that this colour sophisticates outfits and adds a element of elegance, even when it's a really casual style. I also have an 'OUTFIT card', which is a loyalty card for shops like Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Wallis. These are some of my favourite shops because they're always on-trend and I can always find something I like in either of these shops so it's of great convenience that they're in the city centre closest to me.
I have recently been obsessed with this dark grey coat I bought because it does have wool in so it's warm enough to wear at the moment. The North of England recently had an amazing weekend of sun, and then all off a sudden there was wind, rain and everything in between so this coat is perfect for keeping me warm without having to layer underneath. The only downside to wool is that if it does get wet, it can get really heavy and the more wool the heavier it gets.
Charcoal is also my favourite colour in denim, simply because it can be styled for any theme, occasion or look, and today I styled these super skinny jeans with biker boots that I think become a statement piece in this look.

LEATHER PRINTS

22 May 2014

It's  not long now until I no longer have to attend lessons and it's a time that couldn't come quick enough. No longer will I have to chose clothes according to rules or practicality. I may even have a pyjama day once a week as a reminder that I can wear any clothes during the day. But it's still Thursday and I have school so today I'm wearing this silk dress from TK Maxx that I originally bought for my holiday last year, but loved so much I thought it deserved an outing into the world. I really like the mix of colour in this dress, as it's like tie-dye or watercolours which I think is a great way to add colour to your wardrobe. The elasticated waist highlights more of a feminine figure to the dress rather than just a straight or t-shirt dress. My leather jacket is from Miss Selfridge which has become my go-to jacket for strange weather days because it's waterproof in case it decided to rain, but cool enough to wear in the sun and light enough to carry. My bag is from TK Maxx which I have been using as a school bag because it's just so big and there are about six compartments inside which defines me dream bag. Converse have also become my go-to shoe for school or a long day in general because they're just so comfortable for my feet. I have flat feet, which means there isn't that natural arch in the bottom of my feet, also means my feet can start to hurt after a while but this doesn't occur with Converse or high heels. I also adore Converse because most of their styles are unisex so I can wear men's or women's shoes in my size - a rare occurrence for most brands.
