Charcoal Chapter

Yet another dark outfit. Sometimes I don't even realise I've forgotten to add a touch of colour but it's beyond my control. Today's look is a little different to what I usually wear on a day-to-day basis but it's definitely going to be a favourite in the chillier seasons. My dress, which is made of jersey is absolutely perfect for the weather. I'm more of a dress person, but with the sudden windy climate, it's difficult to wear my favourite skater style. When this straight cut dress was made for me, I was reluctant to try it as it's a little figure hugging, but after a few wears - this may be my new favourite item. The dress can seem quite formal due to it's shape, so to style it down, I'm wearing my favourite faux leather jacket and combat biker boots which contrast really well with the dress. During autumn, I tend to gravitate towards darker clothes, so I think this long sleeved dress is perfect - and I can always add colour over the top or in the accessories.

Jimi Hendrix 68

There's nothing like a bright blue jeans to brighten up an outfit a little bit. Within my look, my jeans are one item that stands out the most, despite their simplicity and basic design. But I think jeans and denim as a whole are sometimes forgotten about, but in reality, they're incredibly valuable. As a girl that's almost six feet tall, it's really difficult to find jeans at the right length of a good quality. As as a curvier girl, it's a lot harder to find jeans that fit in all the right places. I naturally gravitate towards super skinny jeans because I know they will fit, but I still have to wear a belt. Today's jeans, which are from Next are so soft they're almost like leggings. Topshop and Next are my go-to high street stores for any style of jeans because the denim is of a high quality and the fit is generous and true to size. Along with my blue jeans, I'm wearing my favourite vest top from Topshop that I've had for at least three years. The graphic print is of Jimi Hendrix, as it's a poster for a San Francisco show in 1968. I've found this shirt to be valuable over the years because it never really dates. The monochrome print is suited to any casual style and pairs with plenty of items in my wardrobe.

Sunny Sapphire

Bright blue has always been a go-to colour for me, most of you will have seen my almost luminous blue coat as I wear it quite often. I have always favoured this colour because I think it compliments my skin tone rather than clashes or washes it out. Colours like red and orange aren't great for me unless they're quite dark. Usually, the brighter the blue, the better and today my top half is shining sapphire. My jumper, which I have had for a while now is cotton, jersey and wool - ideal for this time of year. The fabric is really soft as it's quite a tight knit so I can brave the cold without a heavier coat. My jumper is a little shorter than the average length which I like as I can pair this top with either trousers or a skirt. My matching hat, which is from Next was my first ever beanie hat. I've always favourite this style of hat simply because they don't make my head look any bigger, unlike most hats do. The two bright colours on the top half contrast really well with my dark hair and skin, I feel a little bit like a human highlighter. As I wanted all the focus of my outfit to be on the top, I chose my favourite charcoal jeans, a matching denim rucksack and some faux leather hi-tops.

My Excuse Is That I'm Young

There's always that one item of clothing that you just cannot get rid of. There's not one element in the entire world that can demolish this specific bond and it has been your go-to look for at least a year now. That's exactly how I feel about today's dress. I'm absolutely crazy about it and I'm so excited for Autumn as the deep berry or maroon colour is ideal for this season. I've also been loving prints so the dark aztec print on the dress is ideal. This season has introduced a lot more coats and jackets which means I get to layer underneath to keep warm. There are so many different styles of cover-ups, the list is endless, but today I have chosen this khaki green coat with a faux fur collar to go with my look. I think the berry-like colour and the very dark green blend together really well and are two excellent colours for Autumn. I have also chosen matching accessories, as I wanted most of the focus to be on the clothing. This rustic rucksack is a new favourite of mine, it's denim but really light and pairs well with plenty of items in my wardrobe. Similarly, my boots, which are always a favourite of mine, are versatile as they pair with skirts and dresses as well as trousers or jeans. They're faux leather - making them waterproof and affordable!

I am as vain as i allow
I am crazy about this wishlist, I just want every single item! To begin, we must discuss this Mango Plaid Dress. It's still in stock in a few sizes at only £24.49 at John Lewis and I think it's the perfect autumn dress. The classic plaid print is all over the high street this season so this 100% cotton mini can only be considered an essential. Not only are the colour excellent for this time of year, but they're also very versatile as there's quite a variety - so you can pair the dress with plenty of other items, including different coloured tights. I have a soft spot for Rag & Bone, the clothes there are always on trend and stylish for each occasion. So over this dress, I chose a modern Charlize Cashmere and Wool-Blend Cardigan available at Net-A-Porter that's not intimating and very wearable for everyone. This super soft cover-up is a little pricey, but the mid-weight style (which is ideal for layering) and high quality make up for it. I chose a darker colour to go with the plaid dress as I wanted the dress to remain the centre of the look and though the grey tied in really well with the autumnal theme.
The Sac De Jour tote from Saint Laurent (other colours) has been a favourite of mine for a while. Although this berry colour is sold out, I had to include it in my wishlist because it pairs perfectly with the rest of the items in the set. I think this bag is an item that really compliments everything, as the shape is so simple and timeless, it can't possibly clash. Another accessory that never clashes are black chelsea boots. The Ganni Fiona Chelsea Boots are a pair I came across while online shopping and though would slot perfectly into this set. The classic boot comes with a chunky heel for an extra bit of high and adds a touch of elegance to the overall look. To view the rest of the items in this wishlist, just click the set!
